PRESIDENT - Thad Johnson - tjohnson@solarterra.com Term - 2006 to 2009
My wife and I are building a home in Four Hills Ranch to live in full time....can’t wait to finish it! We look forward to hanging out on our patio, basking in the beauty of Cataract Canyon and being part of a pioneering, off-grid community. As a business owner, I know that communication and involvement is critical to an organization's effectiveness and success. As a board member, I welcome everyone's input to ensure our association's goals and resulting board actions are as much as possible reflective of our entire membership’s desires. Please feel free to contact me anytime to share your perspectives, suggestions, gripes, ideas, whatever --- and know that sometimes we’ll agree and sometimes we won’t, but we’re neighbors ALL the time. |

TREASURER - Peggy Starnes - peggy59sue@yahoo.com Term - 2008 to 2011
As a current resident of the ranch, I have been amazed at how it has developed over the past few years. My goal would be to assist and maintain what has been already put into motion by previous board directors and committees. New ideas and plans would of course be on the horizon and I feel my experience with people would be a great asset to the POA when these situations arise. In California, I was a Customer Service Manager for a sport bottle manufacturer that sold world wide. I was involved in organizing and implementing manager meetings several times a year. This responsibility was given to me primarily due to my strong organizational skills.I dealt heavily with customers both by phone and in person via trade shows and business visits at their facilities. I have the ability to think through the customer's issues and come up with solutions that kept both parties pleased with the results. Earlier jobs I carried in California were in the construction business, working for both a heating and air conditioning company and later for an electrical contractor. My primary goal for running and being elected to the Board of Directors is to make this ranch a place of peace for both those that choose to be residents and those that decided to have the land they own as a get away sanctuary. Privacy with a keen sense of community..

SECRETARY - Tom Makofske - tjmakofske@cox.net Term - 2007 to 2010
I have lived in Phoenix for the past 15 years and bought two lots in 4-Hills in 2001. It was purchased as a relaxing getaway from the city with thoughts of eventually building a second home on the property. I usually spend a couple days a month on the property where we currently have a travel trailer and a couple storage buildings. Hiking, biking, and working with nature are my passions. Having a 10 year old grandson who loves the property made it imperative to add additional attractions to the landscape such as a “look-out” tower, zip-line, rope swing, etc, to keep him occupied. After the bark beetle attack a few years ago, I decided to re-forest parts of the property. After planting over 300 trees and hauling 1000’s of gallons of water from Valle, I have learnt quite a bit about the type of environment we own on 4-Hills. I am making headway, but “mother nature” can be difficult at times. Even though I have never served on this type of board before, I manage information technology projects for a living and have owned my own consulting business for 15 years, so working with people and coordinating activities is not new. I believe I am very level headed and a logical thinker, and where I may take a stand on an issue, I am always open to ideas and facts which can convince me to change my mind. I consider the effects of decisions on others and weigh all the options. I may seem a bit quite at times, but when required, I can certainly state my case. I enjoy meeting new association members and discussing their issues, desires, and enjoyments of the area. I would do my best to keep 4-Hills Ranch an enjoyable place to live, vacation, visit, or whatever else the members enjoy doing on their property. |

VICE PRESIDENT (Secretary Support) - Jen Marshall - jrmarshallaz@yahoo.com Term - 2008 to 2011
My family and I recently moved to Four Hills Ranch full time and are in the process of building our home and raising our 2 young children here. I believe that it is important for board and committee members as well as property owners to be active members of the community. I learned while serving as a school board member in New York that “many hands make light work”. An important part of being a board member is to unite members of an association and inspire them to work together toward a common goal. I believe we all have a common goal. Whether we live here full time or use the land as a retreat, we want to preserve the beauty and maintain the accessibility of our land. I am a public school educator, former school board member, mother, artist and full time resident of Four Hills Ranch. As a Four Hills Ranch POA Board Member I will work to keep all property owners informed about current issues, upcoming events and other interesting happenings on the ranch. I have begun this task already by heading a newsletter committee and plan to have the first newsletter published soon. I would enjoy the opportunity to serve as a board member. Please call or e-mail any time if you would like more information or just to say hello. |

ALTERNATE BOARD MEMBER* - Brad White - bradtania@hotmail.com Term - 2008 to 2009
My wife and I purchased lot #1036 in April 2002, and we are currently living and working in Grand Canyon National Park. I have held many jobs over my 36 years, here are the highlights; property management for 2 years, hotel maintenance for 1 year, campground maintenance for 1 year, owned and operated a franchise of Tru-Green Chemlawn Lawncare for 3 years and I am currently in the engineering department at the Grand Canyon. I would like to see the natural state of 4 Hills remain, without pavement, power lines, etc. I have wanted to become a part of the board of directors for years. I feel I could be an asset to the current members and assist in making 4 Hills Ranch a wonderful, natural place to visit or live. * Note: Alternate Board Members are appointed by the Board and serve as a back-up for other Board members. They are invited to all Board meetings, are copied on all Board communications, but only have a vote if one or more Board members are absent at a meeting. |
